Frequently Asked Questions: Laser

IMG_9301.jpg

What is the best time to get laser hair removal?

During the winter, because the skin is more sensitive to sun exposure and sunburn. The treatment consists of 6-8 sessions, and by the time summer arrives, it will be fully completed.

Joyful Woman Outdoors

Is laser treatment permanent?

This is described as permanent hair reduction (approved by organizations such as the FDA). After several sessions, the hair that grows back is much finer, lighter, and sparser. It's not 100% "permanent" because hormonal factors can activate new follicles.

Meditation Pose

What precautions should I take beforehand?

Do not wax or pluck for 4 weeks prior. Only shave with a razor or electric shaver 24-48 hours before. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for 2-4 weeks. Do not use creams containing perfumes, retinol, or strong acids on the area 48 hours before. Leave the area clean and free of makeup/creams on the day of the session.

Can I get waxing if I'm having laser treatment?

No, because there wouldn't be enough hair follicle for the laser to treat. It's recommended to shave with a razor until the day before your next session.

Black Heart Shape

How many sessions do I need?

On average, between 6 and 10 sessions are needed, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area. Hair has growth phases, and the laser only affects the hairs that are in the active growth phase.

Transparent Glass Flower

What is the recovery like?

Almost immediate. There may be slight redness in the area and inflamed follicles, like goosebumps, which disappears within hours or 1-2 days.

Recommended: soothing cream (aloe vera or mild hydrocortisone). Avoid sun, sauna, strenuous exercise, and very hot water for 24-48 hours. Sunscreen is essential on exposed areas.

Does laser therapy hurt?

It doesn't hurt, the machine I use is very gentle and the only thing you feel is some heat on your skin.

Pink Calla Lilies

Who is not a candidate for laser treatment?

Pregnant or breastfeeding women. People undergoing oral treatment for acne. Use on wounds, tattoos, or raised moles in the treated area. People with photosensitive diseases or active infections. People with dark skin tones without the specific technology to treat them.

Gradient Glass Jar

Can I have hair removal between sessions?

Yes, but only with a razor or blade. No waxing, tweezers, hair removal creams, or at-home pulsed light treatments, because they would destroy the hair follicle that the laser needs to see.

Frequently Asked Questions: Facials

IMG_9307.jpg

What exactly does a basic facial consist of?

It is a deep cleansing and revitalization treatment that includes: skin cleansing, complexion analysis, gentle exfoliation, manual extraction of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), facial massage, mask according to your skin type and application of moisturizing creams and sunscreen.

Minimalistic Wall Clock

How long does the session last?

Approximately 60 to 80 minutes. This is the ideal amount of time to work through all the steps without rushing, leaving the skin clean and relaxed.

Face Massage Therapy

Does it hurt? Especially blackhead extraction.

Most people experience only mild, tolerable discomfort during extractions (such as small pricks or pressure). If your skin is very sensitive, we can use gentler techniques or pre-steaming to minimize discomfort. The massage and mask are completely relaxing.

Facial Skin Treatment

Is it suitable for all skin types?

Yes! The basic facial is adapted to each type:

Fat: sebum control and deep extraction.

Dry/combination: hydration and gentle exfoliation.

Sensitive : calming and fragrance-free products.

It is important that you tell us what your skin is usually like.

Skincare Product Application

What aftercare should I follow after the facial?

Avoid touching your face. Avoid direct sunlight, saunas, swimming pools, or strenuous exercise (sweating) for 24-48 hours. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and high SPF sunscreen (50). Do not exfoliate or use retinoids for 3-4 days afterward.

Eyebrow Grooming Close-Up

Can I wear makeup or contact lenses?

It's best to come without makeup to save time. If you're wearing makeup, we'll do a double cleanse at the beginning. Regarding contact lenses, it's preferable to wear glasses during the facial, as the steam and creams can irritate your eyes. If that's not a problem, remove them before the treatment.

Colorful Cosmetic Tubes

Is there any redness or peeling afterward? Can I go out normally?

Immediately afterward, you'll notice your skin is brighter, more hydrated, and slightly pink (this is normal and lasts 20-30 minutes). Peeling is not usually present. You can resume your normal routine, but it's essential to use sunscreen when you go outside, as your skin is more sensitive.

Abstract Orange Silhouette

Are there any absolute contraindications?

Yes, we postpone the facial if you have: an active infection (herpes simplex, impetigo, warts); a recent sunburn; treatment with oral isotretinoin (requires waiting 6 months post-treatment); or recent facial surgery (less than 3-4 weeks ago).

Frequently Asked Questions: Massages

IMG_9193.jpg

How should I prepare for the massage?

Hygiene: Arrive clean, you don't need to shower right before, but do avoid strong odors (perfume, tobacco, food).
Food: Avoid eating a heavy meal 1-2 hours beforehand. A small snack is fine.
-Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing. For most massages (with oil), you will work in underwear or nude under sheets, but your privacy will always be respected. If you prefer a massage with clothing (e.g., a sports massage), wear leggings or fitted clothing.

Woman Floating Peacefully

How should I feel after the massage?

It's normal to feel:

Deep relaxation, some drowsiness.
Increased thirst (drink water).
Sometimes slight muscle soreness (if it was a deep massage).
Possible slight dizziness or excitement (release of toxins).

This is not normal: severe pain, excessive bruising, nausea, or fever. If this happens, please let us know.

Flower-Shaped Pillows

Can I request that a specific area not be massaged?

Of course. You're in charge of your body. If there's an area you'd prefer to avoid (e.g., feet, lower back), just let me know at the beginning.

Gradient Abstract Design

Does lymphatic drainage hurt?

No. It's a gentle, rhythmic, and superficial massage. If it hurts, the pressure is too high. It shouldn't cause bruising or intense redness.

Does slimming massage really reduce measurements or does it just reduce swelling?

It temporarily reduces volume by mobilizing fluids (lymph) and breaking down localized fat deposits, but it's not a magic weight-loss method. The loss of centimeters is usually due to water retention and an improvement in skin texture.

Person Reading Magazine

Can I do it if I have cellulite?

Yes, slimming massage helps improve the appearance of edematous and fibrous cellulite, but it doesn't eliminate it completely. A comprehensive approach is required for lasting results.

Soft Green Pillows

Does the massage hurt?

It shouldn't hurt. You might feel intense pressure (especially during sports or deep tissue massage), but please let us know if you experience sharp pain, tingling, or discomfort. We work with your pain threshold, not against it.

White Fabric Texture

What should I do if I have an injury, recent surgery, or illness?

Please let us know before we begin. This is essential for tailoring the massage to your needs and avoiding risks. Conditions such as:

- Fractures (less than 6 months)
- Thrombosis, severe varicose veins
- Fever or active infection
- Pregnancy (requires specialized massage)
- Cancer (requires medical authorization)
- Prostheses, open wounds, burns

Massage Therapy Session

How often should I get a massage?

It depends on your goal:

- Relaxation / stress: every 2-4 weeks.
- Sports or preventive: weekly or biweekly.
- Therapeutic (chronic pain): depending on the evolution, your physiotherapist/massage therapist will tell you.

Feet On Fluffy Carpet

- Skin infections (herpes, fungi, open wounds).
- Active deep vein thrombosis.
- Alcohol or drug intoxication.

Hand Holding Calendar

Can I cancel or change my appointment?

Fabric Question Mark

Who should NOT receive lymphatic drainage?

People with acute infections (flu, fever, etc.). Uncontrolled heart or kidney failure. Thrombosis or suspected blood clots. Active cancer (except for specific oncological indications). Untreated hypothyroidism or thyroid inflammation.

IMG_9264.jpg

Does a slimming massage hurt?

Yes, it's usually more intense than a relaxing massage. Deeper techniques, kneading, and rolling are used, which can cause temporary bruising. The level of pain depends on your sensitivity and the area (the abdomen or flanks hurt more than the thighs).

IMG_9264.jpg

What is lymphatic drainage massage used for?

It reduces swelling (edema), eliminates toxins, improves lymphatic circulation, and strengthens the immune system. It is helpful after surgery, for lipedema, cellulite, or tired legs.

Hand with Cream

Is lymphatic drainage the same as a regular massage?

No. Lymphatic drainage is much gentler and follows the path of the lymphatic system. A deep tissue or therapeutic massage would be contraindicated.

Meditation Pose

How many sessions do I need to see results?

A minimum of 6 to 10 sessions are recommended, although a single session can reduce inflammation. Real changes are noticeable when several sessions are combined with exercise and a healthy diet.

Water Droplet Macro

Do I need to prepare beforehand?

Stay well hydrated that day and in the hours leading up to it. Don't eat a heavy meal 1-2 hours beforehand. Avoid excessive alcohol or caffeine (they increase sensitivity). Wear comfortable clothing and no jewelry.

Frequently Asked Questions: Detox

Feet With Red Nails

What exactly is an ionic detox?

It's a foot bath with a device that generates positive and negative ions in the water. The theory is that these ions help neutralize toxins in the body, which are then eliminated through the pores of the feet. She clarifies that it's a wellness supplement, not a medical treatment.

Halved Figs

Are there any contraindications?

It is not recommended in these cases (it is important to ask the client):

- Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices.
- Uncontrolled epilepsy.
- Open wounds or infections on the feet.
- Organ transplant or immunosuppressive treatment.
- Active chemotherapy (consult your doctor).

Meditative Prayer Pose

What do I feel during and after?

During: relaxation, gentle warmth, sometimes tingling. Afterward (first 24 hours): more energy, improved mood, or sometimes deep sleep (a sign that the body is reorganizing). Drink more water than usual.

Skin Care Essentials

Does it hurt or have side effects?

It doesn't hurt. Most people feel a mild tingling or nothing at all. Some notice: drowsiness, slight fatigue, thirst, or changes in the water's color (the latter is normal due to the reaction between the metal and the salt, not just toxins).

Foot Paraffin Treatment

Does the water turn dark because of toxins?

Only partially. The color is due to:

- Reaction of ions with mineral salts.
- Oxide of the electrodes (if they are made of metal).
- Skin residues (sweat, dead cells).
- It is not a diagnostic test of which toxins were released.

Red and White Amaryllis

What should I do before the session?

Arrive with clean feet (without cream or oil).
- Stay well hydrated.
- Do not eat a heavy meal 1 hour before.
- Avoid alcohol or strong caffeine in the 2-3 hours prior.

Bare Feet Closeup

Are results noticeable in just one session?

Some people notice lighter feet, better sleep, or less swelling. But 4 to 6 sessions (1 per week) are recommended for more lasting effects.

Fabric Question Mark

Is it a replacement for medicine?

No. Ionic detoxification is a complement to overall wellness. It does not cure diseases, replace medical treatment, or eliminate heavy metals or drugs in a proven way. If you have severe symptoms, consult a doctor.
